Railroad Workers Memorial
Cathedral and 3rd. From 10th, ¾ mile south on Cathedral, then 300 feet southwest on 3rd to the driveway. In this small cemetery, a plaque on a large granite base states that in 1867 Cheyennes killed six railroad laborers who were working near here. An old piece of limestone was the original and only memorial to these workers until it suddenly went missing. Eventually found under a veil of mystery, it was rededicated in 2003 and now rests in a plexiglass-covered box above the granite base.
