Canals

The many canals you cross while traveling in Jewell and Republic Counties fall within the Kansas Bostwick Irrigation District Canal and Lateral system. The system is part of a Bureau of Reclamation project that began in 1931 for irrigation development and flood control. Construction finished in 1968.
