Kingman County Greenwood Cemetery
From U.S. 54/400 in Kingman, 7½ miles south on K-14, 5 miles east on SE 70, then 1 mile north on SE 70 Ave. It’s not often you cross a cattle guard to enter a cemetery, but in some rural areas it is needed to keep the free-range livestock out. Clyde Cessna’s family is buried in this cemetery, and on the back of the Cessna family stone an inscription reads, “Aviation Pioneer.” In front of this stone, Clyde’s small and simple marker causes one to reflect on this famous aviator’s career and his contribution to early flight and aircraft construction.
