Coronado Museum
In 1541 Coronado and 36 soldiers came through this area during their search for Quivira, the legendary kingdom of gold. A bit that was used by one of the expedition's horses was found near Liberal and is exhibited at the museum. Housed in the 1918 Lee Larrabee family home, the museum focuses on the history of Seward County and contains excellent photos of Liberal's early days and a display about area American Indians. Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m-5 p.m.; Sunday 1-5 p.m.
