Birger Sandzen (1871-1954) was a Swedish immigrant who studied with great European artists to become a prolific American oil painter. His legacy is recognized in contemporary art museums and collections worldwide. Sandzen's beautiful landscapes are readily recognizable by their thick pastel brushstrokes on wall-sized canvasses.
