Runnymede Historical Marker

Harper County, KS

Runnymede Historical Marker

From 14th in Harper, 7 miles northeast on K-2. In the late 1880s a typical English village was developed near here to attract Englishmen and teach them American farming methods. For a time 100 young men lived on this virtual dude ranch, but the colony failed within five years. Nothing of Runnymede remains today.
