Franklin County Prairie Spirit Trail

Trailhead at the Old Depot Museum, 135 W. Tecumseh in Ottawa. Attention all bikers or hikers! You can now travel 52 miles from Ottawa to Iola on the hard-packed surface trail built on an old railroad grade. This trail takes the traveler through scenic prairies and woodlands, past lakes, and over bridges. Prairie Spirit, the state’s first linear state park, connects with the nine-mile Southwind Rail Trail between Iola and Humboldt. Permit required for those over 16.
