Original Military Road

The county’s only remaining section of the original Fort Leavenworth-Fort Gibson Military Road is found just east of Pleasanton. From Main in Pleasanton, go ¼ mile east on 10th, ½ mile south on Holly, then 1¾ miles east on 1000. A sign here states that the dirt road going ½ mile southeast to Mine Creek is the original military road.
