Oregon and Santa Fe Trails Ruts
From Grant and Kearny, ¼ mile east and south on Riverside. The wagon ruts date to the fort’s earliest days when fur traders made their way north and to the 1840s when settlers and freighting caravans traversed the Oregon and the Santa Fe Trails, which branched off from this point. The ruts run from the old boat landing on the river to the fort’s parade ground.
