Old U.S. Disciplinary Barracks
310 McPherson. The barracks, built by prisoners, opened in 1921. After the facility closed in 2002, most of “the Castle” (as it was known) was dismantled except for the outside walls, guard towers, and a section that is now home to the 12th Brick Grille, open for lunch during the week. As you explore the area, interpretive signs provide the story of the barracks.
