Muchnic Art Gallery
704 N. 4th. Parquet floors, embossed leather paneling, and leaded-glass conservatory windows with flower design are just some of the finery in this 1885 three-story, red-brick home built by lumber merchant George Howell. Especially curious are the faces of the family carved into the newel posts on the first floor. H.E. Muchnic purchased this Victorian mansion in 1922. Its second floor now features rotating art exhibits. Wednesday, Saturday-Sunday 1-5 p.m. (NRHP)
