Kansas State Fair
Hutchinson has been the proud home of the official Kansas State Fair since 1913. The fair is held each September, but any time of the year you may step onto the fairgrounds, and east of the Administration Building, 2000 N. Poplar, you will see a large mint green and yellow ear of corn standing on a bed of sunflowers. The local Ladies Columbian Club raised money to build this sculpture and its base and display it at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.
