Cowboy and Oxen Sculptures
501 W. Spruce. In front of the former Municipal Building (NRHP) stand two commemorative features by Dr. O.H. Simpson. The cowboy statue was sculpted from cement with modeling skills Simpson learned as a dentist. The statue was unveiled at the 1929 dedication of the Municipal Building. The oxen memorial, consisting of two concrete oxen heads, is thought to be crafted in 1932.
