307 W. 2nd. Enter through the back alley (behind the historic Blue Store) into this basement restaurant accented with little white lights sparkling against the Dakota sandstone walls. Octogenarian owner Kermit will be in the alley grilling steaks while his wife, Kathleen, spreads good cheer among the customers. Kansas Explorer #2 and many others proclaim the salmon the best in the state. Cocktails are available in this speak-easy-like setting. Friday 6-9 p.m. Reservations required.
