Inside the tin-clad former camp warehouse you’ll learn about the 304 buildings that once stood here, including housing for 4,000 German POWs, a hospital, and the administration buildings for 880 American soldiers. Photos, exhibits, and accounts reveal the camp’s history and the experiences of those stationed or incarcerated here. Operating from May 1943 to November 1945, it was the largest of the 16 POW camps in Kansas and has the most remaining evidence. Call ahead.
