Stone Arch

East of U.S. 81 between Rifle and Sunset. As you travel on U.S. 81, you may notice a stone arch to the east that seems out of place. And that’s just the case. In 1975 Ron Parks and his family built this arch for no particular reason other than perhaps for wonderment. Constructed with field stones, the arch stands at the crest of the hill in a pasture and is clearly visible from the highway.
