Nemaha County Veterans Memorial Wall
U.S. 36 and K-63. One of the most moving veterans memorials in the state, this 340-foot-long wall lists 2,000 names of area veterans of the Civil War to the present. A special section pays tribute to those killed in action (KIA). The 45 individual KIA plaques provide military details including how each person died. For example, in the 1942 Bataan Death March, in 1944 on Normandy beach, lost at sea in a submarine. The wall was dedicated in 2009.
