Marion Cemetery

From E. Main, ½ mile north on Eisenhower. In the back of the cemetery is a nine-foot-tall limestone tree branch containing a scroll, hand, vine, and other artistic expressions. This unusual gravestone is for Judge Reuben Riggs (1810-1873) who died in a blizzard on the way to a buffalo hunt. The inscription tells us he was an honest judge and a poor man’s friend.
