Kennekuk Pony Express Marker

330 and Chautauqua. From Horton, ½ mile south on K-159, 1¾ miles east on 330, then just south on Chautauqua. Kennekuk, established in 1858, was once the home of a Pony Express relay station, two stagecoach lines, and a military road. Today it is only a spot in the road (Atchison County) with a few houses, but a Pony Express marker preserves the legacy of this historic site.
