Jesse Axtell House
703 East. Jesse Axtell built his “cement veneer” house, as he called it, in 100 days in 1909. He made his own hollow cement blocks, but during the same period, others ordered concrete blocks for home exteriors from catalogs such as Sears, Roebuck & Co.
