Historic Windsor Hotel

Once called the “Waldorf of the Prairies,” this massive 1887 four-story hotel is undergoing renovation. The square tower over the main entrance has been restored with the gabled dormer window on each side and ornamental railing. John Stevens, a town founder, built this grand Italian Renaissance structure, accented with a full-length skylight in its vaulted ceiling. It closed as a hotel in 1977.
