Goodnow House State Historic Site
2301 Claflin (across from the Riley County Historical Museum). Pioneer educator Isaac Goodnow and his wife, Ellen, built this limestone farmhouse in 1860-1861. Isaac was one of the founders of Manhattan and also established Bluemont College, a forerunner of Kansas State University. The Goodnows’ lives unfold inside this home, where interpretive exhibits offer a slice of Kansas during its early years of statehood. Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 2-5 p.m. (NRHP)
