If you’re driving I-70 in Riley, Geary, or Wabaunsee Counties, a back-road change of pace is only an exit away. Any exit named for a creek (Clarks Creek, Humboldt Creek, McDowell Creek, Deep Creek) is a scenic route, winding and twisting through woods and pasture-land, past old barns, and over bridges. Start by heading south from the interstate then follow your nose.
