Ellis Railroad Museum
911 Washington. At home in this two-story, red-brick former city hall, the museum displays artifacts and early photos of Ellis' railroad heritage. You'll see switchman lanterns, a telegraph room, and an elaborate model railroad layout. Outside, a two-and-a-half-mile mini-train ride takes you past the historic Penokee depot and a Union Pacific caboose. April-October, Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Train rides run at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., weather permitting.
