Trego County Courthouse
216 N. Main. It was built of native limestone in 1889, and when the cupolas and bell tower were removed in 1952 it gained the title “the courthouse that lost its top.” In 2012 the gable, reminiscent of the original, was revived with some of the original limestone. The courthouse’s claim to fame may have come in June 1974 when several scenes from "Paper Moon" were filmed in the county treasurer’s office. If you have horseshoes, bring them and play a game on the courthouse grounds. Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
