111 S. 4th. This little downtown breakfast place started in 1943 but closed its doors in 1986. To the delight of many, it’s back again! Since 2008 the Chef offers traditional home cooking both in its tasty lunches and in a wide array of breakfast choices—from the classic breakfast to biscuits and gravy, Florentine frittata, and every kind of amped-up entree you can imagine. Look for the original neon Chef sign outside. Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-2 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
