Professors' Row
It was a Sunday event in the late 1910s to drive past the fancy new Craftsman style homes of college professors Whitesitt (120 E. Lindburg) and Shirk (116 E. Lindburg). Although the structures were a basic rectangular form with linear ornamentation, these bungalows had welcoming porches, garages, and were quite a contrast to Pittsburg's usual Victorian and mining company homes. The homes are on a one-way street. (NRHP)
