Prairie Museum of Art and History

1905 S. Franklin ( I-70 exit 53). Joe and Nellie Kuska gathered artifacts from all over the world, and their quality collections of glass, furniture, ceramics, toys, dolls, jewelry, and more are artfully displayed inside a unique building designed by their son George. In addition, the museum features excellent exhibits about western Kansas. The outdoor complex includes the Cooper Barn, a 1930s furnished farmhouse, a pioneer sod house, a one-room school, and an old country church. Interpretive signs tell the story of each structure. Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 1-5p.m.; November-March, closed Monday. Admission charge.
