North Riverside Park Art Deco

The North Riverside Park comfort station (NRHP) was a 1934 Civil Works Administration project and one of the art deco buildings in Wichita that utilized Carthalite, a local trade name for a concrete mortar mixed with crushed glass and pigmentation. The comfort station was built to provide restroom facilities for those who visited the Park Villa shelter. Both red-brick structures are restored and utilized today.
