Inside an old mercantile building with the original floor and ceiling, the museum portrays the county story and showcases famous area residents including scientist George Washington Carver, Kansas governor and U.S. senator Andrew Schoeppel, and major league baseball players Chief Hogsett and Smokey Joe Wood. Thursday-Friday 1-4 p.m. Also open by appointment.
