Lester Raymer's Red Barn Studio Museum
Even the walk on the red-brick path to this fairy-tale looking barn is enchanting. The Red Barn Craft Studio is a Raymer work of art in itself. The working studio of the late Lester Raymer, an internationally known artist, the Red Barn now holds exhibits of his paintings, printmaking, ceramics, carvings, and metalworks but also displays some of the handcrafted toys he made each year for his wife. The most famous of his art is the sun quilt. Stitch by colorful stitch, it became a Raymer masterpiece incorporating 16 different sun faces and four corner sunbursts. The quilt can occasionally be glimpsed on the CBS program Sunday Morning. Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 1-5 p.m. Donation welcome. (NRHP)
