Kickapoo Presbyterian Mission
From 1st, ½ mile east on 5th, then ¼ mile south on 7th. A plaque on a red glacial rock marks the site of the Kickapoo Presbyterian Mission established in 1856. Its purpose was to educate and Christianize school-age children of the Kickapoo tribe that dwelled in this area. The mission continued as a day school for the tribe from 1860 to 1871.
