Indian John

From U.S. 24 in Clay Center, 9 miles north on K-15, then 3 miles east on 27. One of the few gravestones at Idylwild Cemetery is that of John Derringer, 1832-1924. Known as Indian John, he was a legendary herbal medicine healer, a Mormon, and a nurse in the Civil War.
