Freedom Rings
Bloomington Park East (next to Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum). From E. 596, 1¼ miles east on N. 1190. Large gold hoops stand at odd angles and appear about to fall. Aside from being an interesting art installation that surround a historic windmill, the hoops represent the ten Wakarusa River Valley communities and their relationship to the Underground Railroad. A plaque at the site tells more about these Stephen Johnson sculptures.
