El Dorado Monuments

A 1940 WPA project and still used today, McDonald Stadium was named for longtime high school baseball coach (1944-1969) James McDonald. The rare design of the grandstand at 210 N. Griffith incorporates concrete supports that extend through the roof. A granite monument in front of the post office at Vine and Central pays tribute to Pulitzer Prize-winning editor William Allen White, who was raised in El Dorado.
