Charles Adair House

Osawatomie, KS

Charles Adair House

1926 Parker. The two-story clapboard home was built for John Brown’s nephew, Charles Adair and his wife, Mary, in 1904. The original site of the Samuel Adair cabin, moved to John Brown Park in 1912, was north of Charles’s cabin. A large stone marker near the highway memorializes Frederick Brown, son of John, who died near this spot during the Battle of Osawatomie on August 30, 1856.
