B-24 Bomber Memorial

From Osborne, 17 miles south on U.S. 281, 4 miles west on 412, 1½ miles north on S. 150 and follow the curve ¼ mile west, then 1 mile north on S. 152. Near this spot 11 servicemen lost their lives when their WWII B-24-D bomber plane crashed on September 22, 1943. In 2004 local citizens erected a memorial at this roadside pull over. The crash occurred about ¼ mile to the west of the marker.
