The collection comprises more than 8,000 pieces with an emphasis in exceptional American art. A quality hands-on interactive area is a fascinating learning experience for kids. A cafe offers a light lunch menu, and a new Art Garden melds art and nature for a peaceful outdoor retreat. The Tom Otterness sculpture on the south side of the building disturbs the tranquility a bit as it depicts the fragmented body parts of two giant figures as they are overcome by chubby little characters.
