Route 66 Visitor Center

Baxter Springs, KS

Route 66 Visitor Center

You might guess from its iconic cottage style that this visitor center had a previous life as a Phillips 66 gas station. Built in 1930, it saw years of activity from Route 66 travelers. It now represents the past and is a sweet stop. The visitor center is open March - November, and is staffed by volunteers. Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Sunday 1-4 p.m. (NRHP)
