Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics
2350 Petefish (KU west campus). As you approach the building you’ll see the world’s largest stained-glass American flag, and on a sunny day it’s a magnificent sight. Inside, a massive display of black-and-white photos of Kansas World War II veterans forms the Memory Wall, and on the adjoining wall is a stained-glass depiction of Dole’s boyhood town of Russell. State-of-the-art visual and audio displays relate Dole’s achievements as a KU student, a World War II soldier, and a politician. Regardless of your political leanings, you’ll be moved by this beautiful facility and its exhibits. Tuesday-Sunday 12-4 p.m.
