Paxico Antique Stores
If you like antiques, you’ll love Paxico. This charming small town offers several antique stores within a short three-block area. Almost a ghost town in the late 1970s, Paxico started coming back to life as the historic buildings strategically reopened as antique stores. The town’s original look returned when the tin awnings and old signs were resurrected. In season, flowers hang from the awnings, and benches in the shade welcome you to “sit a spell” if you’re waiting for the obsessive antique shopper. Antiques of all kinds are found here, from pot-bellied stoves and jewelry to primitives, western items, magazines, glassware, books, furniture, and much more. You can come to Paxico just about any day of the year between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and find at least a couple of the stores open. During winter months, weekends are best.
