Fick Fossil and History Museum

700 W. 3rd. Fossils are the main feature here, even as an art form! During the 1960s-1970s Ernest and Vi Fick collected thousands of fossils and shark teeth in Logan County. Using fossils, fossil pieces, oyster shells, fish vertebrae, and snails, Vi created her own art form, an art so unique it was featured in "Ripley's Believe it or Not!" The museum also presents some of George F. Sternberg's fossil finds, the oldest documented mosasaur, a sod house, artifacts, excellent historical photos, and the story of the 1874 German family massacre. Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
