Mulvane Art Museum (Washburn campus)
1700 SW College (Washburn campus). Built of Bedford Limestone in the Florentine Renaissance style, this 1922 building is probably the first free-standing art museum in Kansas and is considered a work of art itself. The museum’s collection of more than 4,000 objects includes paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and decorative arts. Don’t miss the very entertaining ArtLab, a huge studio with activity stations where kids and adults are encouraged to get their hands messy. Tuesday 12-7 p.m.; Wednesday-Friday 12-5 p.m.; Saturday 12-4 p.m.
