Bichet School
From U.S. 77, 4½ miles east on U.S. 50, then ¼ mile north on Bluestem. The picturesque Bichet School, a native limestone country school with classic bell tower, served a French-speaking settlement here from 1896 to 1946. Local stonemason Oscar Johnson created the decorative work on the quoins, lintels, cornices, and round window. The original stone outhouses and cave storm shelter are still intact. (NRHP)
